Ordinary Today, Ordinary Tomorrow

Every wasted moment today could be a wasted opportunity tomorrow.
Our days were ordained even before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16). So, what are we doing with them?

We were not created to dwell within the humdrum of normalcy, going about our daily tasks with just enough energy to “get by.” We were created within the realm of time, where our past affects our today and our today determines our tomorrow. So, if we spend today on Facebook, video games and foosball instead of putting our best – not just enough to get by – into work, study, and relationships, then what will our tomorrow look like?

It will probably look exactly like it did today – ordinary.

I’m sorry, but that’s just not enough for me. I choose to live in the realm of things way bigger than me. I choose to stretch my time to its utmost potential by choosing my efforts according to their potential return, doing them with excellence and surrounding myself with people with passion, purpose and potential.

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps” (Ps. 16:9). The determiner of our steps plans the best for us. We must learn to find our true pleasure, our true enjoyment, in the richness of His realm of influence for us today, not in the empty pursuits of entertainment. We must learn to find joy in our today because of the beautiful things accomplished even within the unseen – things accomplished only when we follow. Therefore –  I will follow the best today.

Go where the potential is. Your tomorrow will thank you for it.

  1. The best way to do that? Actually begin to live out true, biblical Christianity…let God lead you and do things that just seem out of place were it not for the leadership of the Holy Spirit. I think I am going to book mark your blog. Great job.
